Ariel's Story
Women are finding new hope in Christ.
I can 100% say that God is working powerfully at the Chattanooga Rescue Mission. For more than a year, I have visited the mission once or twice a month to teach Bible studies, pray and worship with the beautiful ladies who stay in the misison's women's shelter.
These women experiencing homelessness have been deeply hurt, scarred and wounded by life. But I passionately love each one, because I know what they’ve been through.
I grew up with a single mom and I experienced every kind of abuse. My mom was so unstable, by the time I was 15 I had lived in 25 different states. I was passed from family member to family member. There was never any love. Because of everything I went through, I wanted no part of God.
At 18, I started life on my own. I spent nine years in an abusive marriage. Then I experienced life as a single mother. I became an alcoholic and went from man to man. But Jesus pursued me relentlessly. I finally surrendered my life to Him in 2018. I started my own business and got married to a wonderful Christian man. Through the church we attended, I began volunteering to serve the women at the Chattanooga Rescue Mission in 2024.
Without a doubt, I know that God called me to this ministry. Over the past year, I’ve seen these women open up to Jesus. They’re coming to faith in Christ and finding new hope. I see God providing for their needs, and in return, these women pray for others! God is moving in their lives and they are filled with so much joy.
I tell you all this because, as a donor, you should know the difference you’re making in these women’s lives. They thank God for you — and so do I.
Thank you for the difference you make in these women’s lives.
